Install Linux on Gateway M350WVN laptop?
I've seen in another post where Linux has been installed on this model of laptop, but I cannot get it to install and I've tried a couple of different versions. None of the "live cd" type Linux's will run either. It will try to install, but eventually just hangs.
Any tips?

Linspire 5.0
SUSE 9.2
Knoppix, several versions.
No errors. Like I said, it just hangs.

Linspire: Install GUI lanches, hangs after chosing if I want to take over the whole HD or install on a partition.

So just genearlizing here: have you tried booting to Level 1 or Level 3 so as to not load X? Have you tried Failsafe and/or ACPI=NO?
