Do a web search on linuxppc, and you should find what you're looking for.
I'm not a mac user myself, but just like any install, your hurdle is going to be hardware compatibility. Check out the HCLs (h/w compat. lists) for the distros you have in mind to see which would work best.\"Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.\"

i think yellow dog is one of the best for the mac. but that could be cause thats the only one i have really looked into and i also think that mandrake makes a version too.

YellowDog is basically RedHat for PPC. There are a bunch of distros that also offer PPC versions. Gentoo comes to mind as one...

Yes, and I thik SuSE and mandrake also have Mac support.
But you really should use Slackintosh
