    My Son !

    Help! my son has installed Linux as a trial on my pc i would like to format theHD so i can install win xp (i know microsoft crap) but win does not see the HD is there a piece of software to format the drive so win can see it
    I have limited pc knowlege but are ok with formatting etc be gentle

    WinXP will see the harddrive just fine. Just put the CD in and restart the computer should tell you hit a key to boot off the cd. (or restart and put the cd in - however you wanna do it)

    win xp won't see the HD. You gotta get a msdos boot disk and type in fdisk /mbr and that will fix the not seeing the hard drive there is linux commands to do this but don't know any off the top of my head.
