    shut down problem in fedora core 3?



    Hi,
    I have installed fedora core 3linux, I could not shutdown my computer?.
    I have tried the command "halt -p" , shutdown..etc
    nothing has worked for me , can any one give me the solution?.

    did you use those commands as root? you have to be in root to use the shutdown commands. You can also try "poweroff"
