want to dual boot with 3.1

Is it possible for me to make a new partition by taking some other partition's space, so that I can boot a nice early version of windows? If so what would that be?

If you have a cd burner, you could use System Rescue CD ( Boot it up--it's a livecd--and run qtparted from it. That should let you resize and create lots of different types of partitions.
