I have a machine running Windows 2000 Professional, is it possible to install Linux on the same machine also?
Kindly advise, I never used Linux and I would like to experience it without removing Windows 2000.

hi
yes it is possible to install linux. you can have a dual booting on your system. what destro (distribution) are you trying to install.

Thanks for your reply.
I don't know which distribution to install. As I said I never experienced Linux and that's why I wanna install it, so please suggest which distribution I should have and where to get it from.

You can look at distrowatch.com (for info about the distro and which is most popular) or shots.osdir.com (for screenshots of the install and configuring of the distros)... Everybody has different opinions of which are the most newbie-friendly, but suse, mandriva, ubuntu and mepis are the most reccomanded for newbs...
