i have the mandrake limited edition would this be better to start with than susie ,is there different things to benifit from them.......

I would say that Mandrake would be a good choice to start off with, but in the end, it all comes down to user preference. The best way to do it is to try out different distros to find out which one you feel more comfortable with because anyone here can make a suggestion and you might not like the suggested distro.
Mandrake/Mandriva and SuSE are pretty much this same when it comes to usage. There are subtle differences between the two, but nothing really all that major. Just with SuSE, you need to "fix" multimedia to get some media to work right. If you really need a more thorough explaination of the two, you can probably find out here: www.distrowatch.com
