But XP gives you an error when you try to boot, do I have it right?
What is the error that XP gives you?
Could you post the contents of grub.confCode:less /boot/grub/grub.conf

About the XP error message, i was reinstalled xp and i forgot the mean of error message. Thank for your less /boot/grub/grub.conf. could i ask you ? i'm woder about disk partition...during i am installing Linux...it show me:
1 Remove all partion in linux system
2 Remove all partion in disk
3 Existing .....................
I choosen 3option... but can not continue my installation.
but when i choose 1option...linux can continue, so how can i install direct to second partition....coz the first partition i ma installed XP.

also worth noting that if you have problems such as suse accidentally deleting valuable windows files then just use the windows recovery (not the console, the reinstall option) and everything should be fine.
