    Fedora Core 3 won't install

    Ugh...........

    Okay, I tried to install Fedora Core 3 with both graphic and text mode but for some reason whenever it gets to installing the packages it stops. It doesn't freeze it just shuts down my computer. The cd's are okay and worked before. Plus I also have 2 sets and both do the same thing. What's Wrong?

    What are your system specs? do you have enough of sutch things as RAM to do the install?

    I should here's what I have...........


    Asus TX97-E Mainboard with......
    K6-2 500 mhz processor
    256 mb of ram


    the cd drive is also a 40x cd/rw , which has worked fine installing Fedora before.

    Hi Rich,

    After the boot prompt, it runs through a short diagnostic, right? Does it shut down shortly after this point?

    If so, Im having the exact same problem... it may be the BIOS.

    Fedora Packages/install

    What packages are you trying to install, plus are you doing desktop, workstation, or server, can you change the packages prior to, do a basic package install, this happened to me once, I rebooted and reset my partition selected less packages thru custom picks and it's working fine.

    Other than what I just said, not much more I can offer.
