dvd drive dosent see the dvd
i am trying to install linux from the dvd but the dvd drive cant or wont read the dvd. so i have put all the files from the dvd into my second harddrive but i cant get the setup to start from the hdd even though i have put it in bios before the windows hdd.

What problems were you having booting form the dvd? Did you burn the dvd as a .iso image o did yu just copy the iso image? Does it boot at all? Did you check the md5sum of the download?

it is a problem probibly with the dodgy drive i have. the dvd works perfectly in the main computer of the house. (dad will go nuts if i take the drive out of that computer).
is there a way to get it to load from the hdd
