I really want to try slackware but everytime I try to creat a partition it says no free sectors available. How do I make some sectors available or get this ...

You will have to resize the partition. Boot up windows and defragment the partition first, and then you can boot for exampe knoppix and start qtparted and then make the NTFS-partition smaller, leaving room to create a root partition for linux, and probably also swap-partition. This can as well be done inside qtparted if you want it graphical.

Right now I am booted into knoppix now how do i open "qtparted"? Thanks for your help so far.

Well I opened the terminal and typed in qtparted and the program came up, it said "No devices found. Maybe you are not using root user."

it says my hard drive has bad sectors? Also something weird is that in QDParted it says that I am using 25 gigs of my hard drive and windows says I am using like 7 gigs.

I will run disk defrag. I already ran the chkdisk utility in windows.

Alright I did the defragmentation thing and I am going to try qtparted again. Also some people say to save LILO to the MBR and some say not to? Where should I save LILO?
