cos my adsl modem don't work with 9 I'm downgrading to red hat 7.2 cos the drivers have been tested on that distro.
I have downloaded the cd's from linuxiso.org but the Cd is not bootable
I have searched everywhere for a boot floppy for red hat 7.2 but i can't find one, I wonder if anyone can help by giveing me a link?
I've even checked on the cd, in the image folder there's nothing there

To put it on a floppy, run "cat boot.img >/dev/fd0".
However, if the "images" directory on the CD is empty and it isn't bootable, then you have either got the wrong ISOs, or the CD was misburned. You didn't download the SRPMS CDs, right?

hi guys,
I'm having lots of problems, the boot img hellmasker suggested didn't work, I've checked the images directory of the iso and there isn't a boot.img in there, all it has is
I downloaded the file from http://www.linuxiso.org/distro.php?distro=7cdrom.img
dreblock.img
drvnet.img
generic.img
ramdisk.img
a read me and trans.tbl
red hat 7.2 alpha I've verified the checksums.
What a nightmare!
If this is the wrong ISO can someone give me a link for Red Hat Version 7.2.
Thanks

your gonna love this, the alpha version refers to the architecture it will run on. and unles u have a sun/sparc alhpa processor u got he wrong one.....
anything based on pentium/athlon/duron needs an i386 redhat distro. (or i486,i586,i686)
ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/7.2/en/iso/i386/
u want to download the ones labelled i386. not sure if u need disk 2

Sun/sparc? Those are the sparc/sparc64 archs. The alpha architecture refers to DEC alpha CPUs. Just thought I'd clear that up.
