    They don't say what kind of hard drive you have, so I would assume it is ide. So you shouldn't have to pass any scsi boot parameters to the kernel, it should boot ok.

    Not being able to install any distro could mean you have a larger problem.
    On the FC cd I believe that it gives you an option to do a memtest, you should try it.
