64bit SuSE failing packages

I'm installing the 64bit edition of SuSE 9.3, and packages are constantly failing to install, everytime, its a 64 bit package



any idea why this is happening?

Did you download it? I'd verify the checksum first.

an md5sum of the iso file checked out, im trying the in-installation media check now

ok, it burned and installed fine, but when SuSE starts, as soon as it hits runlevel 5 (i think) the screen blacks out and will not come back, i cant even get to an escape console (Ctrl Alt F#)

I have no idea what is causing this, the drive its on is sata if it matters

Try booting to runlevel 3. To do this, select SuSE 9.3 at the boot screen and type a 3, then enter. This will bring you up in console mode. Try starting X Windows with the startx command and see what kind of errors come up.
