I'm installing the 64bit edition of SuSE 9.3, and packages are constantly failing to install, everytime, its a 64 bit package
any idea why this is happening?...

64bit SuSE failing packages
I'm installing the 64bit edition of SuSE 9.3, and packages are constantly failing to install, everytime, its a 64 bit package

Did you download it? I'd verify the checksum first.

an md5sum of the iso file checked out, im trying the in-installation media check now

ok, it burned and installed fine, but when SuSE starts, as soon as it hits runlevel 5 (i think) the screen blacks out and will not come back, i cant even get to an escape console (Ctrl Alt F#)
I have no idea what is causing this, the drive its on is sata if it matters
- 07-24-2005 #5Try booting to runlevel 3. To do this, select SuSE 9.3 at the boot screen and type a 3, then enter. This will bring you up in console mode. Try starting X Windows with the startx command and see what kind of errors come up.
