mandrake installation

hi,
i ve installed mandrake 10.1 with XP as its dual...the prob i got is tat i could not get into my kde environment...

i m also a newbie 2 linux...when i install it, first i got the kde env,but i could not get into it as it shows some errors...when i tried to install it again
no kde env(ie for me the desktop env)...also during installation i set the display resolution as 1024 by 768..after tat when i test it i got some error..i forgot wats tat...i think it can also be the problem..but im not sure abt it

wat i shd do now....i ve tried 2 install it several times actually...but the problem repeats....

After you login as root, do "xorgconfig" that will allow you to configure X.
If that doesn't work, post the error messages that you are getting.
Should be in /var/log/Xorg.0.log

hi,now my problem seems 2 be over after doin the xconfing.....

but as a newbie i have several questions....one among these is how 2 connect 2 internet

when i installed my sys i configured my internet connection.....its working fine..my connection is thru adsl modem with pppoe protocol...
wat i need now is tat i shd change my connection in such a way tat it shd not connect when sys starts,instead as like windows i shd connect 2 net
only after logging into my account..wat i shd

also i wanna 2 access windows files....how can i do tis.........
