firts boot login help

Hi

I have just installed Red Hat 9 and on first reboot in asks for a Login: and then a password: I do not know what to put here as nothing was asked during install.

The machine is physically connected by cable to a network through a wireless router .

During install you'll have been asked for a root password, RH9 does that.

Log in as 'root' with your root password, and work your way out from there. To add normal users (a very, very good idea!) use the 'adduser' script from the root command line.

If you dont think you typed anything for the root password, then try logging in as root with a blank password, then set the password with 'passwd' as soon as possible (before some other bright spark on your network telnets in and changes it to something you dont know).
