I want to uninstall my linux fedora core 3...
but when I put my cd boot disk from windows xp in the cdrom media, it begins to look for harddrives ...

Uninstalling Fedora core 3
I want to uninstall my linux fedora core 3...
but when I put my cd boot disk from windows xp in the cdrom media, it begins to look for harddrives and nothing more happens..
it states it is looking for hardware and then i only get a black screen..
Can someone tell me how i can get rid of this and reinstall windows XP.
I have 2 hardrives. one is connected to a raid card and the other to the motherboard. I have been trying for ages and cannot get it to work. any help is appreciated.

You can use a Knoppix live-cd to delete all partitions.
I don't run Fedora, but you can probably use the Fedora installation CD to do it, too.

can u explain what option i use when running the fedora CD?
I have also been told to use fdisk at the command prompt. Can anyone show me the procedure to do this?

Make sure your bios is set to boot from the CDrom 1st. Insert the XP disk and reboot. When it ask's you, choose to delete all partitions. This will give you the option to use the entire HDD for the XP installation. Good LuckCan someone tell me how i can get rid of this and reinstall windows XP.
