but when I put my cd boot disk from windows xp in the cdrom media, it begins to look for harddrives and nothing more happens..

it states it is looking for hardware and then i only get a black screen..

Can someone tell me how i can get rid of this and reinstall windows XP.

You can use a Knoppix live-cd to delete all partitions.

I don't run Fedora, but you can probably use the Fedora installation CD to do it, too.

Make sure your bios is set to boot from the CDrom 1st. Insert the XP disk and reboot. When it ask's you, choose to delete all partitions. This will give you the option to use the entire HDD for the XP installation. Good Luck
