upgrade to a fedora or newer version of redhat
Hi :

I am new to Linux too, hope someone can help.

We have some machine has redhat 7.2 or old version. Would like to upgrade to Fedora or 9.0. Is there anyway to keep the old data and upgrade the OS?

another question, I fogot to install FTP client during Fedora installation, trying to add this FTP client module. I used the installation CDs to boot and upgrade, while it somehow didn't give me this option. Any suggestions?

Back up your /home partition or folder.
Then install Fedora.

If you have the space (10GB+) you should do a full install. About 7GB right off the CDs, including FTP stuff

I don't reccommend RedHat 9.0, and I don't know too many people who do. Fedora is for the average user and from what I hear it's better anyway.
