Slackware 9.0 need updating kernel 2.4.20 to 2.4.22
first thing how can i backup my 2.4.20 kernel
after i backup how can i install the new 2.4.22 stable im running slackware 9.0 pls help me
ahh almost forgot .. how can i configure my ifconfig that whenever i boot in slackware
to automatically execute those commands so i dont have to
ifconfing eth0 193.168.0.26
route add default gw 192.168.0.1

1. Just don't tamper with the existing kernel, nor the lilo config entry to it. Compiling a kernel is pretty straightforward, and there is a good guide here: http://tinyurl.com/r6pv

For the other stuff, look into /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1 or inet2. I can't remeber which one the correct one is, but I'm shure you will that out.
