Setting module options before install to activate PCI IDE card
Hi,
I'm having trouble installing Slackware (or any other Linux distro, for that matter) on an old Compaq Prosignia 500 server. Problem is, I get the following messages when booting (I have added a Promise FastTrack TX2 (PDC20270, pdc202xx) PCI IDE controller):
PDC20270: IDE controller on PCI slot 00:0e.0
PDC20270: chipset revision 2
PDC20270: not 100%% native mode: will probe irqs later
PDC20270: neither chipset enabled (BIOS)
I know that this means that CONFIG_PDC202XX_FORCE is not enabled in the pdc202xx module. What can I do to enable this so that I can install? This problem does not appear on RH9, but I've since wiped my system clean & don't have access to another working Linux system to recompile another kernel with what I need.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
ML
