Installation through a external CD-RW.
Hello,
Iīve been trying of installing linux-Mandrive- in my laptop and I havenīt been able.
Basically the point is that the CD-ROM built-in the laptop is damaged and I canīt use it to insert the CD-ROM with the software of Linux. Instead, I try to do it through a external device (a CD-RW device).
So, I insert the Mandrive CD-ROM in that device and I boot up through a floppy disk.
The problem is that when starting the process of installing it is looking in the CD-ROM built-in (and damaged) and not in the the external device where I placed the software.
In the next screen, it looks for a alternative "Which driver should I try to gain SCSI acces?"
The question is that in the laptop is not any of the SCSI controllers is looking for.
Thank you,
