ok I am having the hardest time getting a gui up for my debian linux... im stuck in the command prompt. I put in apt-get install gdm (im using net install)

and when it get finished dling it i get to the point where its says its failed to find some archives on the source im using, same with the kde. I've been trying just about everything to get a gui up for my debian but its proving to be futile. Anything I'm missing or is it that my net install source is limited and im screwed? or am I typing something in wrong? Please help
