    error 25 disk read error

    I bought guide to linux with free cd, went into bios so cdrom will boot first, have new dell computer 8400 series, get error 25 ..disk read error?
    what is my problem?

    Did you install and then got the error at boot or do you get the error if you start the CD and try to start up the cd?

    error 25

    I put the linspire live cd into cdrom, its started to work as the grogress bar was moving then it just quit. A bit later.. nothing ..then the error 25 shows up. I so want to move from windows to linux..but maybe will go with the paid xantos..might be simpler for me.

    Download a copy of ubuntu (live cd not the install) and try that out.

    Maybe it is just a cd that is not functioning.
