newbie, please help
hi i have a couple of questions as i just started playing around with linux (Red Hat 8.0) recently. i use aim to communicate with my friends, and before every chat, i see this before their chat: <FONT LANG = 0>
example;
friend: <FONT LANG = 0> hi
me: hi
friend: <FONT LANG = 0>blah blah blah
me: damn that is annoying
i am assuming it is because i use no special font packages, because if they use a different font other than default, their chat will be normal. so if anyone can recommend a font set or a solution other than force my friends to change their font, it would be greatly appreciated. please include step by step instructions as i am a super newbie.
one last thing i would like to point out, i followed some instructions on a website that included the rpmbuild command to install msttc fonts if i recall. but i dont seem to have that command. i downloaded that command but when i tried to install the fonts, it is now telling me that im missing dependencies. arghh!! thanks again for any help and it is much appreciated.

Apparently... cool, that's a good sign! Anyway, try using gaim instead. It comes with RH8. It just might solve the problem.

irc client? Try *****x (command line) xchat, or ksirc. I think one of these comes installed by default on RedHat. If not go to xchat.org.
I respectfully decline the invitation to join your delusion.
