Red Hat coudnt analyze my hard disk????

I create a partition with file system ext3 by partition magic then i go to dos and begin setup of red hat linux but the setup couldnt find my hard drive and stop installation process please help????

try not to use partitionmagic to create your partition,use the distro to create them, most distro's come with qparted etc. built in.some distro's don't like the way partitionmagic creates partitions. hope this is of help

distro is short for distribution, e.g. red hat, suse .mepis etc, sorry for not being clear on that point

ok when i try to make the file system by linux setup process program it says there is no hard drive????

are you installing on a desktop system or laptop? if a desktop, check your cables are ok, also, go in to your bios & check hard disk is recognised,if all is well, it could possibly be hard drive is failing,if not that, i don't know. maybe some one else on forum can come up with some more ideas?
