Xandros is finally running on my Laptop!
For awhile now i been having trouble getting xandros to work right on my laptop. I even tried tons of other distros, which all ended up having the same problems, and i didnt really like them as much as xandros either. Well, it finally is installed and running smoothly. The laptop is an HP Pavilion zv6000. It seems that most versions of linux that had a kernel below 2.6.10 had trouble with the sound, and ran sluggish. So I ended up installing xandros with the 2.6.9 kernel and then upgrading it to 2.6.11 it then ran ultra smooth! And for the ATI 200m, i just downloaded the proprietary drivers from ati's site and made them into a .deb using alien. I then installed them and went into the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file and changed the driver from vesa to fglrx, the color depth to 24, and the res to 1280x800. It is now usable, but i still have no 3d accelleration. I just had to post, cuz i been trying to get linux on this thing for awhile

Congrats! It's always nice to have that feeling of accomplishment. I remember when I finally got Arch just the way I wanted
