Sound Surround

hi everyone,

i have recently installed red hat linux 8, and i have a small problem.
i have sound blaster live 5.1 and is installed (hear music). the problem is that a have a "FourPoint Surround" system and i only hear sound on the front satellites, no sound at all on the rear.

please somebody help me

I have 4 point creative also - check their website, they have linux drivers I believe - if not, people have had alot of luck with the ALSA (Advanced Linux Sound Architecture) drivers - which I believe redhat uses by default, but you can setup to use all 4 speakers.

Also, check that you are not actually getting sound, just fainter out of the rear speakers, that's what mine did by default.
