need a little help with grub

    hey guys.
i had a dual boot set up with FC2 and winXP.
i reformatted my linux drive from within windows (getting rid of linux for more storage space)
now when i boot it tries to load grub and then just sits there. it never actually gets into the grub menu's

is there a "safe mode" of sorts for grub that will allow me to fix this?
or should i just wipe my MBR clean and then try to fix windows?

    Unhappy

Boot with your Win XP install disk, type "R" to get you into repair mode.
Once you are at a command line, type "fixmbr".

    or

If you have a floppy drive and a Win98 startup disk, you can boot with that, once you get to the A: prompt, type

    fdisk /mbr

    And Grub will be gone
