    stage1.5ReadError

    I'm trying to get a dual boot with XP and Ubuntu linux on a amd64 computer. I have windows installed on my serial ata drive and am trying to install Ubuntu on my regular hard drive. I installed ubuntu and when I restarted to continue the installation, i got this error...

    grub loading stage1.5ReadError

    Does anybody know what this is/ how to fix it?

    not sure that this will help, but the file it is talking about lives in the /boot/grub/ folder.

    Use Suse 10.1 and occasionally play with Kubuntu
    Also have Windows 98SE and BeOS
