    which distro? do you mean updating the software on it or the whole OS to another version?

    OS upgradation

    I am using Fedora Core 3 Distro.

    I need to know how the OS is upgraded / repaired using installer(Anaconda etc).
    Is there any software available for this? If so how is it done ?
    I need to know about how the kernel or any firmware is upgraded without loosing data during installation.

    it is done using yum,yumex, apt and synaptic. (at least thats what fc4 uses).

    installing software in fc4 is a pain in the butt.
