    SATA hard disks not detected



    Hi all
    I installed linux ES3 on my system on the seperate hard disk and after installing SATA Hard disks are not detected. its detected in the BIOS mode can any one helpl me.

    so you installed RHEL 3 on a machine, and then you added new Hard drives to the machine, after the install was completed ?

    Are they new drives that haven't been partitioned yet ?

    cat /var/log/dmesg | grep sd

    did it return any lines indicating it sees a Hard drive attached as a sd device ?

    if it did, then the system can see them, you will need to partition the new drives, format them, and decide where to mount them.
