both mandrake and unbuntu doesnt work!
2weeks ago ive got sick and tired of windows
so i was looking for new os
my friend gave me the ubuntu installing cd but
It doesnt work!
to be more specific, when I choose one of three choices of kernel,
it gives an error massage. I tried all three of them but none of them works
so i did it again and again
since my ubuntu does not work, i got mandrake 10.1(not sure about the version) all four cds burnt in dvd
this one also goes thourgh up to partitioning and thorws an error that it cannot find kernel while formattting the drives(hda 6 or something like that)
should I stick with the windows?
my computer is samsung x20 with bios 08ze

I wouldn't think the problem lies within the distros themselves but you could possibly have corrupted areas on the installation disks. Tell us all you can about your computer, the hardware, RAM, DVD rom etc. The more info you can provide the better. This might help in finding a solution.

You are supposed to burn the CDs seperately.
