I doubt that I can help you with a device like that (it's amateur radio, isn't it?) without actually having it here to experiment with. Sorry.
Don't the guys that you got the drivers from have some kind of support?

The device is a modem, not an amateur radio. Anyway, I found precompiled for RH 9 and base uncompiled drivers at:

I hope I won't have ant further problems.
