My Hard Drive is Locked?
I am a longtime Windows user, but I started reading about Linux and now I am compelled to use it. I tryed LiveCDs from several distros, and the one that I really like is SuSE 10.
I torrented SuSE and checked the md5 sums, everything was good. I burned them all to CDs, backed everything up, and was ready to go.
I've decided to dualboot, so that I can still play WoW on XP without issue.
So everything was going great. Until I actually tried to install. Well, I can't even say that it started the install process, because my hard drive wouldn't partition. It just gave me an error, and I removed the disk and restarted. I did that twice.
I was determined to install Linux, so I downloaded Partition Magic 8, registered it, and set it up to my satisfaction. It didn't work either, but it did give me an error message. My "hard disk is locked". Is there any remedy for this? I read about a Windows 98 command "lock/unlock drive:", but it didn't work in XP. Any replacement for this command in XP or is there something else that I should do...
Help is appreciated...thanks!

I finally got it to work, and it was all because of some stupid windows program that locked files and stuff. Uninstalled that and bam! It worked.

amorrn, can you post the name of the windows program you uninstalled, so that if anyone else has this problem, they can solve it easily.
