    Quick and easy installation on Starmax 5500/200

    We have two Imac (OSX 10.4) two Win XP, one Win2000 and one linux on Compac PC.

    I would like to install Linux on an old Motorola SM 5500/200 (OS 9)

    Yellow Dog Linux is certainly one of the most popular PowerPC Linux distributions, but there are PowerPC versions of Debian, Gentoo, Fedora, and Ubuntu as well. I would recommend that regardless of what distribution you choose, you make sure and install something other than KDE or Gnome for your graphical interface, as a 200mHz processor with only 4MB of video RAM won't be able to handle them very well.
