What partitions should I make and what rights should I give them , on two machines ( a cluster ) on which I want to install Red Hat Enterprise Linux which should both be configured for speed/performance and also for being able to handle large amounts of loggs ? On both machines I should have the users : root , user1 , user2 .

For example if I have a 40 GB disk , what partitions should I have and how big each ?

If I have a disk big enough, let's say 120 GB , could I somehow make 3 such installations and configure each one with different partitioning schemas ?
