squid very slow with a very light configuration
My squid stable 2.5 is very slow on redhat 9.
Redhat is installed on a primary slave 10 Go (slow HD..5000t/mn)
Pentium 4, 256 DDR
Config proxy : swap cach mem 70 Mo.
Cache disk:100 Mo
With only one client, I need 1 mn to get a page. The client is one XPPro..P4 2,5 Ghz 256Mo DDR
Someone can help me....

It sounds like it's timing out on something. Maybe your DNS configuration is bad?

I have configured the DNS on both client and proxy with the same IP.
It was worked very well when surfing "directly" (bypassing the proxy).
Should I modified somethinf in the network configuration of the client: I have only change the settings in IE option and add manually ip
ort of the proxy cache.
