Help with linux Installation !!
i am downloading a iso dvd of fedora linux.I have 40 GB hard disk with the partitons C: and D: each of 20 GB.But i am completely noob in this .Ineed some help from u guys on what should i do to keep XP on one partition and Linux on the other. I require the complete procedure pls hlp.I am a first year engg student and know how imp LINUX is to the industry and thus want to install and learn it.

The installation routine in Fedora will give you the option to setup separate partitions along side your WinXP partitions. I usually make my own rather simple partition scheme something like this:
/ about 6 to 8 gigs (ext3)
swap about 512 megs
/home about 6 to 8 gigs (ext3)
Different users have different reasons for making them bigger or smaller, or for using a different file system, so you'll need to decide what you want to start out with.
