i compiled new kernel with acpi disabled, and it boots now.
then i installed xfree, kde and gnome.
now, when i typeit gives no X found like error.Code:startkde
if i start x first, it starts and i start kde from there, kde starts but it is very strange. windows are not movable, sizable. there is no taskbar etc...
how to start kde and gnome like other distros?
this is my 6th gentoo try with no success
Thank You!Have a nice day

edit /etc/rc.conf there's a line in it that says 'XSESSION=" (w/o quotes).. you can put kde-<version> there and it will start it as the default wm.. i can't remember where the X scripts are atm, though.. just make sure that you don't have a ~/.xinitrc because that overrides /etc/rc.conf settings.
