I have bought an Ibook 2nd hand.

It has mandrake linux 9.1

When I install an OSX 10.3 CD and boot holding "C", I get the grey apple then a kernel panic. "We are haning here".


The problem is I am a linux newbie. I know nothing about it.

There is also a password.


I am now in the desktop of linux.


Does linux also copy itself into firmware when you install it?


The problem is I want to completeley remove all traces of linux on this machine so that the OSX 10.3 installation cdrom can install the original operating system.


Please help a newbie remove Linux Mandrake 9.1 completely from an Ibook.
