    Can't Mount /proc

I recently installed Gentoo and compiled my own 2.6.3 kernel. I also installed and configured Grub. Upon booting, the kernel is successfully called but the machine freezes when it tries to mount the processor: "*Mounting proc at /proc..."

Have I mistyped something in the configuration somewhere?

    Thanks.

Do you have /proc filesystem support enabled in the kernel?

I believe I enabled that when I compiled, but I'll need to grab a bootdisk to check.
