    K3b burn bootable iso

Now I know I read it before here--but mine just isn't booting.
Don't I just download the first Federa disk .iso and use (tools>cd>cd image) then select the first disk iso file and it burns a bootable disk?
I also tried boot.iso from the same mirror.
Please confirm I am doing this right.

    Note:
    My suse distribution boots fine.
    I can burn data disks.

cdrecord gives me no file or directory /dev/pg even when I do a -scanbus so I don't know how to get the device #s

If you are burning it with K3b then you can:

Right click on CD image => Open With 3Kb => wait until it finishes checking Md5 Sum => choose correct burner (with empty CD inside) => click Start

Thanks, I was just using poor quality CDs. Doesn't it check writing by default?
