    Generic SENDFAX program?

My boss reckons that there is a generic SENDFAX program for Unix-like OSs, with the property of being able to send a fax from supplied text-only input (ie no support for graphics).
I have looked for one and haven't found it.
What I have found is a SENDFAX executable as part of Hylafax, Mgetty+Sendfax, and a few other faxing products.
Can anyone tell if there definitely is or isn't such a beastie?
I am specifically interested in such a program for a RedHat platform.

Yes there is such a beast. It is part of hylafax. I haven't used it yet though I did compile it. It's text-based.
