First install Error
I installed linux and whenever i boot it up the first time it always lock up at the enter time and date thing. is there anything that i can do about that.

I was having trouble with my gnome panel so i reinstalled and that is why i am at this point. it also did this to me last time i installed it and then i just "quit" and did not proceed with that part of the installation and i think that it then did not finish installing my gnome panel so now i am not going to skip it if at all possible can anyone help

First find out just how hung it is. I'm guessing this is RedHat 8.0. Then the time/date configuration is in X, right? When it's hung, try pressing CTRL+ALT+F1 to get to a text mode terminal. If it works, it's not the system that's hung, but just RedHat's installer, which is far more preferrable.
