How is it possible to format low level, so that I get rid of the stupid windows XP revovery version? Is gparted doing low level format? How can I clean my disk incl. mbr to install linux from scratch?

If you boot from a Linux CD and follow a normal install - your hard disk should get completely overwritten without problem, and you can choose a bootloader like grub or lilo to overwrite your mbr.
Otherwise just use gparted to erase all current partitions - then install on a clean hard drive. I don't think gparted can overwrite an mbr though...10" Sony Vaio SRX99P 850MHz P3-M 256MB RAM 20GB HD : ArchLinux
