Adding screen resolutions to Linux boot CD
Hi guys,
I am currently customizing my own version of Morphix and everything is going smooth except I am having trouble pre-defining screen resolutions in the boot CD.
The only resolutions available on the boot CD are: 1024x768, 800x600, 640x480.
I know the monitors and video cards can handle more on the computers I am testing it on but I cant seem to add anymore resolutions.
The way I am creating this boot CD is: mounting boot CD iso file, decompressing the files, adding and modifying the files, compressing the files, making bootable iso, burning the CD.
In the /erc/X11 directory in the CD (before I compress the files) I have:
I tried to manually edit XF86Config-4, and add this line:Code:X, Xloadimage, Xsession, Xsession.options, app-defaults, flubox, rgb.txt, sysconfig, xkb, xsm, XF86Config-4, Xresources, Xsession.d, Xwrapper.config, cursors, fonts, rstart, xinit, xserver, xwhois
I tried that because it only had 1024x768 and below in there before but it did not make any difference. I am thinking this file gets made at boot time or something but there must be a way to add higher resolutions to the boot CD if 1024x768 is in there in the first place.Code:Section Screen Susbestion Display Depth 1 Modes 1600x1200 1024x768 800x600 640x480 EndSubSection Susbestion Display Depth 4 Modes 1600x1200 1024x768 800x600 640x480 EndSubSection Susbestion Display Depth 8 Modes 1600x1200 1024x768 800x600 640x480 EndSubSection Susbestion Display Depth 15 Modes 1600x1200 1024x768 800x600 640x480 EndSubSection Susbestion Display Depth 16 Modes 1600x1200 1024x768 800x600 640x480 EndSubSection Susbestion Display Depth 24 Modes 1600x1200 1024x768 800x600 640x480 EndSubSection
If someone could help me here it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Philips
