/dev/hda is like the name of where the partition is.

the hd stands for hard drive and the letter after that is like which hard drive it is a is number one b is number 2, like if you have more then one hard drive

umm, hold on a sec let me try to install again

  7. #16
all i know is that it tries to install reiserfs or something like that and then it tries to mount /dev/hda on / and fails

  8. #17
did you choose reiserfs for the partition type? if not then perhaps the kernel doesn't have support for it can get the exact error for us

  9. #18
it automatically chose that one, if i had a choice i would have gone with ext2

  10. #19
Have you tried reinstalling and choosing a different partition type and seeing what happens?

i would do that and all, BUT IT WONT LET ME CHOOSE!!!
