can you get a distro which you can boot without burning?

You cannot get distro's that "Boot from windows".
The best you can get is a distro that runs without installing, eg, "Knoppix", but you still have to burn it to CD first.

if u have a fast internet connection u can try SuSE. u will need 3 blank floppy disks (It says 5, but i've only EVER used 3) u can install it over the internet. I have a 2 meg connection, and installs in a few hours. But then there are 9 other people on my network that download a lot. If u want to know more bout this jus let me know!

i believe there was a distro called 'monkey linux' which would install on a windows partition and boot out of windows. dont know if its still out there and if it still supports this feature.

i remember booting zipslack from windows have a look on the slackware site and see if its still around

There is a new israeli version out that works on Windows only...

Topologolinux was a distro that installs to windows and is 'booted' from windows. I have it on a dvd somewhere. Twas based on Slack 8.
