Problem connecting to internet
Hi,
I got a problem connecting to the internet using Redhat Linux 7.3 using ADSL.
What are the things I have to configure in order to connect to the internet?
I was using the wizard provided by gnome to connect to the internet. I was told to configure only the following things:
Service Provider: singnet
Userid: xxxx
password: xxxx
Did I miss any configuration steps? Do I have to configure the DNS ip?
Thanks for the help

Run netconfig and set it to auto connect which will use dhcp. If you use pppoe, you will need to install a client and set that up to connect.

On my GNU\Linux system, I use rp-pppoe. you get download it from www.roaringpenguin.com/pppoe . The program is pretty easy to set up and use.
When downloaded and extracted the source, type ./go as root. When its done, type. Remeber to use user@isp.com not just user when configuring rp-pppoe. I remeber having problems due to thatCode:/usr/sbin/adsl-setup ; /usr/sbin/adsl-start
