Fedora's Installer creates three partition /boot, / (root), and swap. did you create partitions manually before installation? leave unpartitioned/free space and check if installer creates swap partition automatically.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

i've installed fedora core 3 in d:\ because i had windows in c:\ and i didn't leave unpartitioned space but it was installed properly without any problem
1st i created the /boot as 100M
2nd /swap as 512 because my memory was 256
finally the root ( / ) took all the rest
without any problem
in fedora core 6
i created the /boot
after that i didn't find the swap in the options
so how can i do as before
1st /boot (ok)
2nd swap ( i didn't find it i found "/home , /usr , /local ....... )
so which choice should i choose
3rd / (root ok)
so can u tell me how can i install it step by step (just the partition part)

post your existing partition structure here.
if Fedora 3 is still installed, execute fdisk -l and post output here else execute 'diskmgmt.msc' at Windows Command Prompt. It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
